So what are your goals for your body? Are you looking to improve your core strength? Or maybe it’s sustaining low impact movement to stay healthy? How about getting back to your fitness level after an injury?

Whatever your goal, Pilates can help you reach it in many ways.

This week, while I was attending to our front desk needs, I encountered two very different clients with very different goals. The first was a lovely gentleman in his early 70's who came in saying he 'hasn't moved in forever and he knows he needs to do something for the sake of his health'.

He had gone to one of the local big box gyms and didn't feel like that environment was a good fit for him. The music, the noise, the number of people, the lack of attention to the workouts - it just wasn't what he saw working for him. And his goals were to move, add some muscle, and stay healthy.

For this client, we talked about how Pilates could help with his movement goals along with being able to supplement sessions in weight training or cardiovascular exercise (ie. walking, stationary bike or elliptical, etc.)

The second client is a young man in his 20's. He is looking for core strength and better quality movement.

He also preferred a more boutique atmosphere with 1:1 attention to see results faster. And he needs the ability to schedule around his studies, so the idea of booking sessions as he can is appealing.

We are open 7 days a week from 5:30 am - 8:00 pm and we have options on Saturdays and Sundays. As long as we know in advance what times students need, we can usually make it work!!

We explored great options for beginning students, the Pilates 101 small group classes or our New Student Private package of 3 1:1 sessions.

Whatever your goals, whether it be physical or mental or both, Pilates can assist you in reaching them. Working on your posture and spinal health helps with overall general health, alleviating compression in the spine can alleviate pain, promote better blood flow, better breathing, etc.

Increasing flexibility can help with overall movement patterns, helping with arthritis pain, low back pain, and more. Breathing properly can help with mental clarity, oxygenation of the blood, cardiovascular support, etc. And let's face it, working those Core muscles can help with that beach body if that is what you are aiming for!

There are so many benefits to Pilates, the list is endless. If you have a story you would like to share, we would love to hear it - just send us an email!
